Create a Playback
There are three ways to create a playback in Audience.foundation:
- Load a pre-existing playback using ScreenWizard; or
- Duplicate an existing playback; or
- Create and design a new playback.
Create a new playback
- Create a screen background in any program and export it as a bmp or jpg file with the resolution required for your playback. See Create a Screen Background.
- In Audience.foundation go to Edit > New > playback. (If you already have a playback open in the tree, you must first click on the playback's screen in the tree to enable the New > playback function).
- Give the new playback a name: it must begin with a letter, and can only contain letters and numbers. A short descriptive name is best* (something like "Natl" or "Toronto” or “Finance”).
- Choose a resolution. See Playback Resolutions for details. Note that you can always rescale your playback for a different resolution. See Duplicate and Rescale a Playback for details.
- Click OK to create the playback.
Audience.foundation automatically opens the new playback.
You must now populate your playback with content. The first step is to create a screen, or add a reference to an existing screen. See Screens for instructions.
* If you anticipate duplicating this playback, you may want to keep the name very short, because the duplication process adds a prefix to the playback name and all of its components (including zones and magazines). With a long name, the naming structure could become cumbersome.
